Dr. Bell C.F. Chung, PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Hong Kong and is also a certified hypnotherapist. The thesis of his master degree was on the practical application of forensic hypnosis by law-enforcement agencies in criminal investigations to recover forgotten memories of victims and witnesses. Bell is also an expert in cross-racial eyewitness identification. He had presented his doctoral thesis in international conferences held in Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Beijing and Italy. Bell had 16 years of working experience at the Hong Kong Police Force, where he had handled hundreds of death investigation cases.
He encountered a near fatal glider crash in New Zealand in 2004, falling 200 metres. On the edge of life and death, he miraculously survived. However, medical science concluded his leg had to be amputated and become a paraplegic. He discovered a different method to address his debilitating injuries. He integrated the traditional Chinese aesthetics into modern psychological treatment and discovered the vital key to activate the enormous self-healing power that lies inside us – the subconscious. He healed his physical injury and overcame depression, reborn and recovered with freedom and wisdom. Today, Bell has regained his mobility, with no need for amputation or a wheelchair.
In 2011, seven years after the accident, he wrote his first biographical novel Life Returns – traveling through life and death in 2322 days, which reveals his near death experience and the seven years of amazing life-changing voyage. In 2012, he unlocked the secrets of his self-healing journey in his second book, Be Your Best Doctor.
He is the pioneer in employing Dream Therapy to activate the self-healing power of human subconscious. He excels in exploring the possibility and potential that lie in our subconscious. He has combined the traditional Chinese aesthetics with modern psychological treatment, to develop a unique program of “positive cognitive therapy”. He founded Self Conscious Centre in 2013, and had provided consultations and psychological coaching services to many CEOs and celebrities in the Greater China Region and Asia. Inspired by life, art, and beauty, Dr. Chung further combines traditional ancient aesthetics with modern psychological theories. The “Five-Taos”, namely Calligraphy, Music, Tea, Flower, and Incense, correlate to the respective human senses: hearing (music), tasting (tea), seeing (flower aesthetics), smelling (incense), and touching (calligraphy). Together, these five Taos nourish our bodily sense to enrich the soul. Through performing cultural art, we integrate our body, mind, and spirit; harmonize with our living environment and bring gratitude to life.
“If every man who comes back from death is meant to carry a special mission, then I believe that my most important mission is to share my miracle recovery story, because miracle is not exclusive to me, but equally shared by everyone on this planet. I am merely a selected story teller.
On this note, I’m here to share with you my miracle journey. “, Dr. Chung said.
